Hello everyone. Yesterday I had a letter about the results of my echocardiogram. I would like to share what was written because I don't know how to feel about it and maybe someone who has had similar results can shed some insight on what it means. "Limited echo images were available due to poor windows. The impression was of good biventricular systolic function and very mild mitral and tricuspid regurgitation was seen but otherwise, there were no other abnormalities." I am now waiting to hear back from him about the 72 ECG results. My thoughts are that the mitral and tricuspid regurgitation could be the reason for my symptoms (pounding heart during any exercise, palpitations, tiredness, dizziness.) but I am not sure. It's all very overwhelming and a new experience for me. If anyone can share their thoughts I would be happy to hear them

Echocardiogram results...a likely problem?
I’m not qualified to be specific. I know myself that these technical terms can be so frightening. And the waiting for someone to tell you what it means. I just wish there was another way to communicate other than a cold letter. It seems that your on your way to sorting this out. It’s a journey. But you are not on your own. There are so many of us on here. I would try speaking to a BHF. nurse. They are brilliant. Sorry I couldn’t help more.
I am not sure why you have gone Hidden but welcome to the forum anyway.
Poor imaging on a standard echocardiogram has three main causes :
a) Obesity
b) Breast implants
c) Serious lung disease
These all interfere with the transmission and reflection of the sound waves. It sounds as if you are beginning to get a diagnosis. If they need better images they may give you a TOE (Transoesophageal Echocardiogram). During a TOE a sensor passes into your oesophagus. The sensor will send out sound waves and pick up the returning echoes to create pictures of your heart in the same way as the standard (from the front) echocardiogram.
