New and saying Hi.
Hi Tex, I am sorry to hear that but you will be able to go back to what you are used to doing, it may take some time and it won't be immediate, but take your time and build back to it, make any lifestyle changes you may have been advised to, and take any meds yu have been prescribed. See if there is a cardio rehab group in your area, well worth joining if there is, your GP or practice nurse can advise, remember some of this is also confidence, I know that I had an issue regarding confidence in my abilities. I have had three heart attacks, stents, angioplasty, bypass, COPD, type two diabetes, and chronic sleep apnoea. On Monday I (With my partner) am walking from London to Birmingham, so you can get back to really good fitness levels. Best of luck and stay positive. remember this forum if you need to talk!
Thank you been dealing with it for 5-6 years and still have a bit of trouble managing it. Will keep going of course. Still do so little and angina hits daily.
I was the same, I became paranoid about every twinge, I still get them on occasion, but I found that the more I did the more I could do, just walking which gradually got further and further. To start I made sure I was on a bus route so if it got too much it was easy enough to get home. I cut carbs, which helped with my weight and again that has meant I can do more. Do you need to see your GP? Do your meds need tweaking?
Been seeing gp and about six months ago switched me from bisoprolol (lowered Bp to much) to nicorandil. Bp since has been a bit of a roller coaster. From 95/65 to 135/93. I have another consult with a cardiologist, but by phone this time. Due to Covid. I walk about 20 minutes two times a day. Also great job for you and good luck on the walk! Inspiring.
Thank you and the best of luck to you, I hope it goes well for you with your consultation
