Had cardiac arrest in dec 2018 and had 2 stents fit in 12 months.
I have just come off my second lot of anti-platelets - ticagrelor - and for a few days I've felt really odd, I have on/off chest discomfort, nausea and my eyesight can be very blurry on occasions, not sure if I need to be making my way up the a+e or not?
Anybody else dealt with similar?

It's never a bad idea to seek help for chest discomfort. They don't think it's a waste of time, they would rather you get there before too much damage to your heart. I had my first heart attack 2011, I've never been able to get off blood thinners, but I've been diagnosed with microvascular angina. Takes an angiogram where they test every artery. Please seek attention of someone that can help. Take care.
Thanks for replying, yes I had a problem with my first anti-platelet, clopidogrel and the consultant believes it didn't work hence a failed stent and a replacement 12 months later.Think I will get it checked though now even though I hate the idea of wasting their time probably better safe than sorry...👍👍
No, only after my first heart attack, so far I've had 3 stents, next heart attack didn't need a stent. For some reason I clot easy. My cardiologist said bluntly after first stent 2011 that I need to decide how far they want to keep me, he said it's only a matter of time. I'm still around to prove him wrong. We only have a few cardiologist to choose from. Mine is stress related.
It wasn't blocked enough, I had another heart attack because I went off blood thinners for knee replacement. Actually the surgeon who did knee replacement wasn't told I had heart problems. I never got to meet her before op, slight oversight. Glad it didn't happen on operating table.
Ten months later I started getting angina symptoms again. Turned out I had two stents blocked back up and my arteries were in a mess.
So they decided I had to have some bypasses.
A few weeks before i was due to go in for the operation I was sitting watching TV and I felt an angina attack come on. My wife wanted to phone 999 but I stopped her and said let’s see if the GTN works first.
The GTN eased it but it didn’t go completely.
Next day my wife insisted I at least visit the doctor.
In all I had my wife, Nurse Practitioner and GP telling me off for "not wanting to waste people’s time".
The GP sent me to A&E.
I didn’t get back home until I had a quintuple bypass (CABG x 5).
I had a few "events" whilst I was in hospital and in the end they put me into intensive care on a drip to make sure I actually made it to the operation.
I think I’ve made my point!
I think the hardest part of all of that was admitting that my wife was right and I should have listened to her, I’ll never live that down 🥴🤣🤣🤣🤣
Best of luck 👍

Hi Yes I had the same thing stent fitted march 2019 coming off Ticagrelor had to wean myself off it took a couple of months all the same symptoms including chest discomfort
Good advise to speak to the medics but they supported me weaning myself off.
