Feel really sick and a bit dizzyvafter my evening meal... reckon it's my anxiety due to the change in the weather.... (that sounds stupid but the weather set off the angina I didn't know i had pre heart attack) ... sorry just wanted a moan about my stupid mind and body : )

Hello if it makes you feel any better i went out this morning to walk my dog and even though i was wrapped up as though i was about to conquer Mount Everest i was still caught out by the cold. When it strikes my chest really hurts and i can feel breathless and shakey and sometimes nauseous. My HA was 2 half years ago and still cant get my head around how the cold affects me. To revive myself i wrap myself in a snug blanket, have a hot drink and read a book /magazine for a while to give my body time to reset itself. It took a while to get into this routine but i felt pampering myself works and really does calms the mind. Remember you've been through a lot and it takes time to get your head around new experiences. Be patient with yourself and breathe. Maybe try some yoga when your mind starts to wander. I found it helped. When i felt like this i trained myself to think right its time for 'me time,bring on the pampering' so go on relieve your worries by treating yourself, its medicinal afterall. Your worth it. Hope this helps.

I haven't suffered any angina I dont think... i think my brain just plays tricks on me which gets me angry... ive come to bed with some sweets and my hubby is outing the little ones to bed.... I tried yoga once... didn't like it if I'm honest I just felt fat and inflexible ha ha xxxx
Hee hee yoga its not for everyone. My other half says it's the best entertainment hes ever seen and that hes never laughed so much. Cheeky bugger. Sometimes you just need a bit of time to chill and thats ok and it's great that you have a wonderful partner who understands and will give you the time you need by helping with the kids etc.... its hard on them too and they can feel helpless. so keep talking it helps them to understand and talking sometimes is all you need to ease these symptoms you have. Also realising you may have overdone it this week is a bit of a mind bender. I thought i could pick up where i left off after my HA and some days i felt really poorly. So pace yourself, you'll soon realise what sets you off feeling like this. It takes a while because as women we just get on with it and forget ourselves. Dont like winter, im on countd own to spring! Stay snug and sleep well it sounds like your in good hands. Take care.
Thank you I always end up feeling so silly but the fear of a repeat heart attack sometimes overwhelms me... I do much more exercise since January and I always feel great during and for a while after ... thank u for replying to me its helped a great deal xxxxx
Its what this forums about. We've all been there. It does get easier believe me. I joined a heart support group run by the hosp cardiac team and it was really helpful and confident building. And recently i joined a BHF fundraising committee as a volunteer which if you definitely need a mood boost is the way to go. You can volunteer as much as you like, so no pressure. Its great fun and you feel such a positive buzz after helping, even if its just putting some posters up. I helped out as a volunteer at the Blenheim Palace half marathon in September and had the best of days. It was so much fun from start to finish. Dont think the smile left me for days. Brilliant. Just a couple of things that worked for me. So take care
Don't think your being silly at all. One day you'll do something and think wow havent done that for a while without side affects. It will come . just need to accept it may take time and you'll have wobbly moments. Thats ok. We are human afterall..... x
Have you tried ginger for sickness? Stem ginger is good but too sweet so I soak it first to get the sugar off. Or you could just grate a root and pour boiling water on it and drink the resulting tea. Nibbling ginger biscuits is also a help.
There are acupressure points which help. Two of them are a couple of fingers in from the wrist. If you press and it hurts you have got it. Look it up on the web.
Deep breaths help too. Good luck
