Returning to work after crt.d
A former colleague of mine has one fitted in 2012. Still working full time in software development and runs a small specialist Internet company.
Obviously this is not hard physically. Much depends on your husbands work and overall fitness level. Has he spoken with his GP/cardiologist?
Hi , I had my CRTD fitted in February this year . I was back at work after four weeks on reduced hours then back on full time hours two weeks after . I work in retail with a fairly physical job involving a lot of lifting and walking (5-10k) per day usually. I have had no problems so far but I do think it also depends on the person, we are all different with our capabilities. I am female and 63 . Good luck with the op hope all goes well.
I had an ICD implanted on a Tuesday and was back at work the following Monday
I had a CRT-D fitted on a Thursday and was allowed back to work the following Monday, that was 3 years ago. I took it easy and mainly did desk work for the first 4 weeks, then I resumed my job normally carrying computers, boxes etc. I'm still working now. 2 years after I had the CRT-D fitted a scan found that the left side of my heart had reduced in size and my output had increased to 40%. Before this I was a severe case of dilated cardiomyopathy now I am just moderate to severe.
