I had high BP all my adult life but there were no other signs or warnings that I can remember leading to the 2 HA's I had late last year. Everyone is different but for me, the HA's consisted of a crippling pain between my shoulder blades, shortness of breath and feeling cold/clammy. Initially, I didn't associate these symptoms with a HA so I presented late which resulted in heart failure. So, if you're in any doubt at all, please don't hesitate to see your Dr, call 111 or the BHF helpline ASAP.

The pain was the worst I'd ever experienced and it literally floored me (curled up on the floor unable to move much). It's difficult to describe but it felt like a burning brick was being pushed slowly through my back to my chest and it lasted about 5 hours the first time and 8 hours the next time a few days later. I definitely would've called 999 at the time if I could've made it to the phone.

Aww my god that’s so awful to hear I really hope you are okay and feeling well again to some extent , so I’d definitely know if was a ha a pain I wouldn’t tolerate , that’s reassured me as mine comes and goes but nothing as awful as that I’d give mine a 7/10 pain , oh my word within days apart I am so sorry you went through that and really hope your okay , thank you for massive help though :) x

Everyone is different and some don't even exhibit significant symptoms. So, play it safe and get in touch with your Dr or call 111 to be sure.

With symptoms such as you have I would probably either ring 111 or present myself at my nearest A&E; if the latter they won't mind at all; lets hope that it is just musculoskeletal pain but do let the pros diagnose you; very good luck x

I have rang 111 they told me see my gp but I’m having trouble doing that , can I just walki into a&e with all this covid going on I don’t want to get there and I can’t :( , I’m really hoping it’s something like that too as I’m super scared , just don’t want to get there and be sent home within the hour I don’t feel they take it seriously with my age :( x

You can walk straight into A&E, I feel certain that they will want to investigate your symptoms, if I was in your position that is exactly what I would do

I had absolutely no symptoms. My heart just packed in one day. Life really is a lottery and I was lucky it happened where it did.

I know it’s difficult, but try not to think about it. Living your life in constant fear is no life at all.

My suggestion would be: make sensible choices in your diet, your exercise regime and your routines and cherish every waking moment with your loved ones.

I don’t think I had any symptoms before. One day I had a pain in centre of chest went as white as a ghost, didn’t know what the pain was and drove myself to hospital. 🙄 After a seven hour wait in A+E felt much better, tests came back as negative for HA. Next day went out everything as normal, day after pains again, this time called 111 they got an ambulance. This time tests did show something, and was in hospital for 10 days, but only I think because I was waiting for a bed in another hospital to have one stent put in. To this day I don’t know if I had a HA or not, never been told I did, no information nothing. Stent on Friday evening , chucked out Saturday morning . 🙄

Sorry to ramble on, but if I were you for your peace of mind I’d get checked out, better safe than sorry. 😉

That’s crazy is they notes you could access To see , I don’t know I don’t have a clue if your allowed or have to have them sent to you surely they must be a way to find out

Oh my god it’s awful when do that God knows how u must of felt , I felt worthless when did that to me earlier this week after just little testing because I’m young and yet you had things done

I do feel that the nurses and doctors are overstretched and worked why I don’t want to intrude

I can’t get appointment with gp but I am heading to walk in doctors then least if i have go a&e it’s down that I tried my best to be sorted before there again :(

It’s fine i think I’ll be driving people crazy on this forum my head is in overtime on worry

But I believe this forum has saved me going totally daft as I’ve realised there’s people like me who have or are going through the same and I’m not alone ,, my partner and daughter really try help me but I feel they not listening or understanding where as I know they are as they try in every possible way to help me ,, I don’t want to put stress and worry on them as I know inside they be feeling it too

At least you have been seen by the doc now, so give the pills a whirl and see if that sorts it. But if you do have anymore of the pains or symptoms you should go to A&E straight away and let them check you out. 👍🏻👍🏻
