Best Ways to improve my EF

Does anyone have any tips to improve my EF, I had a HA just over a year ago and a stent fitted and owing to COVID no rehab was available so I’ve done my own thing and am now back to running 5k once a week and try to do some exercise every day. My age is 70 and my EF is currently 48 can I expect anymore?

Just to add, "can I expect anymore?" this also depends a lot on what (if any) damage was done to your heart and if EF was lower, how much it has already recovered?

48% is close to 'normal' (~52%)

Mine has recovered to ~45%, which in the words of my cardiologist "is a result".

Hi Gaz - it has improved from 35 -40 on discharge from the hospital so I am happy to be going in the right direction!

Then fingers crossed you get some more improvement.

Hi - that’s very helpful thanks, I will introduce another run in the week to see how it goes, it terms of High Intensity I’ve been doing the Joe Wicks kids 5 minute workout and that gets the old ticker going! Thanks again

My understanding is that an Echo can only measure to ~55%.

Mine was as low as ~10% on 1st, mid 20's on discharge, 1 year later mid 30's, 2 years mid 40's.
