A hard day

Sorry that I am doing another post so soon after the other one, just having a bit of a bad day and needed to write it here. You'll have read in my previous post that I am still very unsure about what the problem is and waiting on appointments for more in depth tests. Today has been difficult with my symptoms. My heart started palpitating and fluttering when I was just lying down or sitting down. It was pounding very hard from just walking round to the car and I was breathless and walking up about 7 stairs. I felt dizzy and disorientated. I feel very low today because of it all. I just want to be able to live my life and walk up stairs without my heart pounding out of my chest. I'm 24 years old, I shouldn't be living this way.

I am not a health professional but based on symptoms you are describing you should seek medical assistance. You should go to A&E and get checked out and if you are unable to get someone to take you I’d call an ambulance. Wish you well.

Nothing happens when I go to A&E. They just do an ECG and take bloods which are all normal. Whatever is going on with me isn’t going to be picked up that way. They will just tell me to wait for the cardiologist to confirm an appointment for my tests. I can always ring my cardiologist I suppose couldn’t I?

I think you should get on to your doctors surgery again and stress how bad you are feeling. Don’t be fobbed off and tell them you really need to speak to someone as you now feel this is urgent. They should be able to speed things up for you. Don’t be worried about writing on here. It doesn’t matter how many times you do it. We all understand what you are going through. You. Will get really good advice. Hope this helps.

Call an ambulance or at least phone 111. You need to see a doctor asap so please don't wait any longer. All the best

Write down all your symptoms (and when they happened and for how long) , then go to the hospital. Read out what you have written down so you don't forget anything.

Find out the name of your cardiologist and then ring and speak to their secretary. As well as doing all the other things listed here. You need to be heard, by the right person who can help you. Sending hugs xx

I’m not a health care person but in my opinion you really need to get into A&E.I wouldn’t drive but get someone to take you or an ambulance.

A doctor could send you there and they carry more weight.

My doctor sent me, told me I couldn’t drive myself, I didn’t come back home till I had a quintuple bypass.

I think an angiogram is called for. But that’s just my opinion.

All the best.

Can I ask what an angiogram is?

Yes of course. Best if you read it direct in the BHF website, here is the link.

I have had around four of them, well that and an angioplasty.

Personally I found them nothing to worry about and was eating my lunch soon after.
