Hi Everyone new to this so forgive me if it's a bit garbled. Had 3 near fainting/ black out episodes in the last 2 years which doc thinks is AF. Thing is been having AF on off for about 18 years but these are very different so now on the road of testing and investigations. Real bummer though is I can't drive until under control.
Anyone had same problem and what is or was your experience?
Thanks

Hi. I had similar near fainting episodes coupled with very long term extreme fatigue. I’d put it down to age and work. Luckily my GP got her stethoscope out and discovered a heart murmur and ordered an echocardiogram. The echo showed severe aortic stenosis which needed a new valve to correct. I’m now 8 months post-op and still in shock at the speed of it all. Please don’t ignore the dizzy spells. I’d had all the other symptoms for years and they had gone unnoticed. Best of luck and I hope there’s a straightforward solution.
Yes had first episode 2019 and then 6 days ago. Heart murmur and rate seems to drop but most of the time hovers around 58 at rest but can drop in to the 40s but normal rate when active no pain just fainting. Went to the GP yesterday and now getting chest x-ray, 24 hour trace and a heart scan so wait and see.
My heart rate went as low as 32 at rest and averaged out around 40 over the past few years. Playing football and getting it up to 180 obviously didn’t help as I suffered a cardiac arrest. Four months later, after having an ICD fitted I’m now feeling good and enjoying things I never would have thought possible back in January
Took several years and change of Cardiologist before I got a diagnosis, I had a 14 day monitor which showed 2nd degree AV block. I was getting symptoms when I dropped below 60 so my pacemaker is set to kick in at 62bpm.
Like bantam12, I have bradycardia due to heart block (2nd degree to start with, but it has now progressed to complete heart block). I had a couple of years feeling lightheaded, one episode of pre-syncope and a final episode where I blacked out completely and had a pacemaker fitted the next day as an emergency. I still have the odd AF episode and loads of ectopic beats, but generally feel good and am living a normal life.
Hi Keepbees - I had two fainting episodes last year, both after short exercise sessions when I had stopped to stretch. The second episode resulted in cardiac arrest, A&E and emergency bypass (!).
In my case, the narrowing in my arteries meant when I exercised it put too much pressure on my heart and it kinda gave up. My ECG, echo cardiograms were all normal - it was the angiogram that showed the problem.
