I am sick with (angaina) and currently I work as a care and support worker for the elderly and the handicapped, and this work requires a lot of physical effort and sometimes staying up all night. Is it better to reduce my work hours or continue or change the type of work and choose light work?

Firstly I am sorry to hear of your ill health. But I would reconsider reducing your hours until your manager and care home do a risk assessment of your work area, the type of equipment available to assist you and your colleagues in your job. Have management put you and your colleagues on a manual handling course. On top of that they have a duty of care to you to make sure you are catered for within your own circumstances. Even if all of this is in place do not reduce your hours or alter any other part of your existing job or get into dialogue about your contract. seek legal help on this via CAB or a union. Good luck 😉
