I was diagnosed with Angina with symptoms of pain in my back and associated constant burping whilst walking. Previous to this diagnosis the doctors were prescribing gastric resistant tablets. After stents I was no better. 4 months on I had a second Angiogram and they found that I may suffer from vascular spasms. They also cleared a lesion between the stents. Cardiologist increased my Amlodopine dose. After this my burping eased considerably but after a few weeks they returned. I now have regular constant burping with pains like a soreness in my back. On Amlodipine, Aspirin , Bisoprolol, Lisinopril, Atorvastatin, Isosorbide. The doctor also prescribed various Gastric tablets none of which really help. Recently I tried Esomeprazole which seemed to help reduce the burping considerably. Doctor seems reluctant to change any other medications. Has anyone else encountered a pain/soreness feeling similar to mine? Has anyone experienced the constant burping?

Hello Plynda
I am sorry you are still having problems.
Has your Cardiologist confirmed that you have coronary vasospasms?
If so I would discuss with them a review of your medication.
Beta blockers are contraindicated if you have coronary vasospasms.

I ended up in hospital for 5 days when I was prescribed beta blockers because I live with coronary vasospasms-vasospastic angina.
I don't burp however I do feel my angina pain in my upper left back between my spine and shoulder blade as well as chest pain.
Unfortunately vasospastic angina is often overlooked and few Cardiologists have the experience of how to care for patients with vasospastic angina.
It can take time to find the best combination of medication that will help you best.
The BHF has some information on the website about vasospastic angina which may help you.
