I was put on Clopidogrel about 2-3 months ago, when I had a very minor Stroke. I find that my hair seems to be 'thinning', and there is more hair than usual in the bath when I wash my hair. I wonder if anyone has had any of these effects, or is it perhaps my age!!

I have been taking clopidogrel along with many other heart drugs for many years.
My hair has been effected too along with my nails and skin.
It's not great however you can have problems with your hair due to as you say part of getting older, especially for women after the menopause, poor diet, being anaemic and due to stress.
Check with your GP before taking any vitamins or supplements as some supplements such as biotin can effect some important heart related blood tests.
Many thanks for your advice, Milkfairy. I will be following. I always read your comments with interest. I am sure you have comforted and reassured many people on this Site.
I have been on clopidogrel for a few years now and I can honestly say that my hair, which was never thick or luscious in any way, is no different. Maybe is different medication causing your hair problems? I have to say that my nails are weaker than they used to be though.
Hi MelB51, Many thanks for your reply. The other 2 medicines I take I have been taking them for quite a while. Nothing is said about hair problems on the side effects list, so I really don't know!! But thanks again.
Hi, I have had exactly the same trouble but I have been on it for 5 years. At first lost body hair and eyebrows but just thought it wasn’t related to what I was taking. But now my hair has receded from brow and if I didn’t wear a fringe it would be even worse. Also certain BP meds mixed with Clopidigrel cause severe muscle pain especially from back down back of legs. Have mentioned it to GP but they didn’t think related. I came off BP meds for 10 days But pain was slightly better but hair still bad. Need to go back to GP .
Hi, many thanks for your reply. I will talk to my GP, however he is a young doctor and might think well she is of age, lol!! I am79. (not passed it yet!!!😅😅)
Hi I will be interested how you get on. I am 76 and most doctors are younger than us but we still need to get proper treatment and be heard. Usually I have had good treatment and would like to think age would not come into the equation.
Hi there, I'm afraid at he moment nothing happening. Doc wants to chech out about another problem first. No multi-tasking here, 😘. I'll let you know when there's progress . Take Care and Stay Safe.
