Hi all became ill on Xmas day and test revealed I covid postive. Xmas day was the last time I ate any food. I have been really ill totally out of it, so weak I could not even clean my teeth etc. Just been bed bound for many days and totally accepted that I could die. At times I wanted to die...surrender to afterlife, to get away from the dreadful symptoms of this virus.
I am coming out of it now, although very slowly but do believe my heart, kidneys and liver have been compromised. Pain in chest, shoulders, sharp intermittent shooting pain in left breast. Pain in upper part of back between ribcage. Tightness in whole of chest area .Ache in kidney/liver area tender to touch...relieved with hot water bottle. Cannot sleep so much going on with heart....extremely uncomfortable.
Pre-existing conditions, AFib, mitral valve stenosis, severe left atrial dilation, hypertension, hypothyroidism. I am on my own, what should I do? I feel really vulnerable and alone.
Thank you

I too decided to get back to my GP as I’ve been struggling lately and was told what I felt was happening to me, indeed was. My condition is deteriorating and they are going to talk to my surgeon and push for my surgery to go ahead.
We must look after ourselves in these times. It’s awful out there but we have to keep our conditions in perspective. If you feel bad - seek help! You are important. You matter. ❤️
How frightening for you. You have been extremely brave dealing with all of this. Here’s hoping you now make a full recovery as soon as possible. Are you in touch with your GP for their support, please say you have made contact with them, Is there anyone around family or friend wise to assist your recovery and give you support with food, medicines etc etc. If your heart is being impacted and you feel so poorly please contact medical help. Don’t suffer alone please. Medics are there to support, this is no time to go it alone. Sending a big hug. Thinking of you.
If you have your heart medics phone number given them a call or 111 or 999. Don’t tough it out please get some assistance. X
Hi. Really important that you stay positive and focused on a full recovery. Find a happy place to go to in your mind and visit regularly. Talk to yourself about all the great things in your life and what you will do when you get through this. YOU WILL get through..... be positive.
Sound advice Rugby46...Thank you. Normally I am able to put into practise what you suggested which always helped me in the past when I become overwhelmed. With Covid, i was totally unable to connect to that part of my mind where I normally find some peace when the going gets tough. It was like covid had robbed my mind of something, a place of safety I go to, a very precious place indeed. My mind was just filled with a massive void of nothingness. This was the most scariest and darkest place ever.there was nothing there. Hence I was lost and so vulnerable, terrified, not of death, but due to fact that I had no contact with higher realm of my mind where I always found salvation and peace. I know this might sound crazy but I wanted to give up...in reality I was already dead because my mind was dead...I had lost everything. That's what Covid done....took away my spirit. Today I awoke and My mind/spirit reigns once again. Thank you so much for your reply to my initial post
Contact 111 for advice as surely the guidelines say that if you feel no better or your symptoms worsen after 7 days to seek medical advice.Hope you feel better soon.
Sounds like you've been through the wars and fought a good battle so don t give up now. Get on the phone and get a little help to get over this final hurdle. Start eating when ready and drink loads. Baby steps right now , but it'll get better .As others have said , call GP and 111 for advice and help.
Thank you for your sound advice Battle2020. Hey ohhh, doing battle with Covid was a no, no, for me so I surrendered to it. Stripped me of my spirit to fight. Can't fight am energy (the virus) we do not know who employs all its tricks to mutate, in order stay alive for its own survival. Basically, the virus is the same as us humans who just want to survive no matter what. It's heartbreaking though, the number of people who have died at the hands of this destructible invisible warrior. Pleased to say I took your advice and phoned 111....was in a+E all day yesterday, had lots of tests which ruled out several possible consequences of AFib, which was the reason why I was admitted. Got lung damage due to covid though but very lucky considering. Good news is....I been able to eat some food today. Am taking it slowly as you suggested. The only way is up now...Phoenix rising out of the ashes. Got my spirit back thanks to all you wonderful people on this site.Bless you all
Im glad things are now heading in the right direction. Stay positive and take every day as it comes . You will get there! I found myself at a
covid testing station this morning. Been feeling rotten for two days now and woke with a high temp and some loss of taste. Also have have a very bad chesty cough. In bed now ready for the next battle.
Could have done with out this- only 2 weeks out of hospital. Must have picked it up there
Ohhh Battle so sorry to hear you may have covid. Do hope your test results are negative. If you picked it up in hospital two weeks ago think you would have had symptoms way before now. Correct me if you think I am speaking out of turn. I am by no means an expert on Covid but my symptoms appeared day after doing grocery shop in M/S. It was first time I ventured into a store for months. M/S was the only place I went to. What's always been my main concern is asymptomatic people. There was very little social distancing in M/S, quite chaotic really, no trolley hygiene etc, really bad organisation, but I went against my better judgement which was telling me not to shop there. Next day first sign of Covid...mind sore throat. Keep me informed as to how you are getting along. Peace be with you during this trying time. Think is its possible to rise above the Battleground.
Ohhh Battle so sorry to hear your results are positive...sincerely hope you retain your strength as you so optimistically go into battle with Covid. Will keep you in my thoughts. Please keep us updated if you feel up to it. Peace to you
Yeah Battle it really does knock you for 6. It effected me so badly I was totally unable to do battle with it which is so unlike me because I am a fighter through and through. I so hope covid is not as mean to you as it was to me and you stay strong enough to do battle with it. My heart and support goes out to you.
If you haven't been eating then you probably haven' t been drinking enough either. The j pain over your kidneys could be anlinfection. You really do need medical advice.
Hi I hope this message finds you improving. I deeply hope with your symptoms you have been in close contact with your GP, given you past medical history. I strongly suggest that you order a oxygen saturation monitor from Amazon, and if you feel short of breath that you can finish a sentence without taking breaths or your oxygen saturation goes below 94% you call 999, you must drink and get food in as a priority your body is fighting hard and it needs fuel, if you can't eat I suggest drinking full fat milk and complan to help you get the necessary salts, if you don't eat your in bigger danger of deteriorating, main thing is monitor your oxygen levels and keep in contact with your GP X x
