I would think most if not all would feel better on here after treatment or surgery. Without it I would not be replying to your post. Many have ongoing treatment for various issues but without treatment the alternative is much worse

Absolutely. 2 years on 28th December since heart attack/cardiac arrest. Would not be here now were not for the skill and dedication of NHS staff

Had Aortic valve replaced and bypass done 4 years ago, I am grateful every day to the amazing medical team that gave me my life back. So from my perspective the NHS are fantastic they are clever caring and always looking to advance treatment for those of us who have heart issues.

Sadly can’t say I do, felt great before surgery, knowing I’ll never feel that good again still affects me some days.

It is quite different for elective surgery compared to emergency surgery/treatment.

Agreed, Gaz_chops, not sure exactly why this is the case but it was confirmed by staff during my recovery, so I assume the difference in experience is common. I’m sorry you are in the same situation.

I guess those that have gone through elective surgery/treatment where suffering pretty bad before, so 'almost' always are going to benefit from it.

As opposed to an emergency situation where no symptoms etc prior to surgery, everything, including meds, make you feel worse than you did before.

Its pretty hard coming to terms with the new 'Normal', but hopefully we all get there eventually.

I know I have 99% of the time now. Hope you have/do too.

Definately, 10 months since my double heart bypass. Wonderful people and treatment at Royal Brompton and Basingstoke hospitals. This Christmas may be a bit different due to Covid but thankfully I am here to enjoy it with my family and a lot healthier.

Had elective Quad bypass 6 weeks ago yesterday (during second lockdown), now after seeing London go into Tier 4 and NHS deal with fall out from covid... I feel so thankful, humble and blessed to have been fortunate to receive treatment. Will remain forever grateful and indebted to the Surgical, ICU and HDU teams for the excellent care and attention I received during this impossible time. We are all lucky to live in a country where we can benefit from the NHS, and I sincerely hope those who are delayed and need treatment can be helped soon. 🤲🏼

I felt pretty good before but had chest pains which wore off with exercise. So it’s important to make sure you have all the tests - not just passive ECG’s if you have chest pain. Yes I am very grateful to all the medics who saved my life and it’s wonderful not to have the pain anymore . I am very lucky to be alive and. I don’t take life for granted anymore

Yes feel much better both from CABGX3 18 months ago but also it gave me the incentive to lose a good deal of weight & get fit so have much more energy now. It's good to highlight that a lot of people have good improvement after treatment
