Something to smile about that the the politicians can't get money out of.

At 10.00 a.m. this morning the winter solstice occurred . So what.

Well, the light nights are returning. We will be able to walk in woods of many colours, swim in the sea and eat Ice cream cones as we walk along the promenade with an independent air and enjoy the balmy breezes,

Holidays will beckon. Some will to go and jump into ski lifts and be whisked a 1000 metres up to the top of a ridge to walk along an Emporers path track and enjoy the views, have a rostii and a coffee or tea followed by a slow ramble down.

Others will enjoy lakeside views and saunter along shaded paths , jump into motor boats and visit ornate Islands to enjoy chianti and chocolate cakes, before wandering back through fragrant acacia or lilac scents.

Swimming in clear blue seas will demanded by many in Spain, with a menu del dia to ease hunger pains. A soak in the sun will be greeted with joy followed a trip round the bay with a breeze in your hair, then jumping ashore for a gelato a la sombra.

So it really is good news day!

My hubby always says this.... mind you the day after the longest day he starts grumbling that the days are getting shorter. Haha.

Funny you should say that. Mine says exactly the same. He has even been known to send emails to friends about it. Even walking up a beach in the middle of June I could guarantee he would say "Make the most of it, the nights are drawing in". Is it a Man Thing!!?😊

I really hope we can do all these things before long. I'm missing my skiing holiday which is usually a bright spot after Christmas. Be great to see more sun soon though.
