Looking for any advice please. I had a heart attack April 2019. On the usual medications Aspirin, Ramipril, Bisoprolol, Eplerenone and statin. I am 51 and going through the menopause and struggling as I cannot take any hrt meds. Is there anything that I can take to help with symptoms especially hot flushes and emotionally. Thank you.

Heart attack and menopause
Hi, I’m sorry I can’t help much but I am a woman of 55 years, H.A. & Stent December 2018. If you look up my post , you’ll read what problems I had menstrually.I don’t know if I’m menopausal as I don’t have periods now but I do have hot flushes and get grumpy.
They’re worse in summer. Shower in morning and sweating by the time I’m dressed😫. I find the occasional paracetamol stops it.
Interestingly, in winter ( under 7c - I live in Scotland) they stop. I then have a few months of cold hands, nose and feet. No flushes.
I understand the coldness is due to Bisoprolol(5mg) . I’m beginning to wonder if the hot flushes are also due to this. I’ve read a few posts by men complaining about hot sweats and beta blockers.
You could maybe mention this to your doctor. An alternative bb? Or maybe it is menopausal related. I hope you find an answer. Write it up if you do for future woman readers.🙂
