12 yr old daughter with a racing heartbeat.

My 12 yr old daughter has been unwell and off school for 9 days, she's feeling sick (not been sick) and when she stands her heart races and she feels dizzy/light headed.

GP has done an ECG whilst she was lying down and all looked fine. We are waiting on blood results.

Does anyone have any tips/advice on what this may be related to?

Thank you in advance for any help!

Of course, I'm not a doctor, but it could be a lot of things - e.g. ear problems can cause dizziness. If her heart is fine when she's lying down, I doubt that's a problem, just a symptom. One of my daughter's had similar symptoms recently, took nearly three weeks to get over, but was a tummy bug.

Hi,I'm not a Doctor either, but it could be something as simple as dehydration or a bug. Does she eat a varied diet? Anaemia and other nutritional deficiencies can cause similar symptoms.

Have you checked her pulse when sitting and standing to see what the difference is?

Did the GP seem concerned or order further tests?
