Hello everyone. I am posting this to see if anyone has any answers. My 15 year old niece (sisters daughter) has been told she has a cholesterol reading of 5.4. 🤔 It was the same when she had it took last year. She is a healthy and very active teenager, also a pescatarian. We have a strong history of heart disease in our family. Grandad, father and uncle all dies of heart attacks and strokes at young ages and i had a heart attack at 42. Is this a normal reading for a teenager as i know guidance levels tend to differ with age? Or should there be a referal due to family history? If anyone has experienced the same or similar i would love to hear from you. She has not been put on any medication . Thank you.. 😁
