I think people do have HAs without realising as there are many symptoms especially in women which you might not necessarily associate with HA

Yep, I had a "silent" heart attack. I went to my GP having had a "stomach bug" (vomiting & diarrhoea) for 3 weeks. GP sent me for a blood test, and that evening I got a phone call from a panicking out-of-hours doc who shouted "YOU'RE HAVING A HEART ATTACK, YOU NEED TO BE IN HOSPITAL" - I was sitting in a pub with some friends at the time, feeling better than I'd felt for 3 weeks!

That is crazy what happened next

I told the doc I was fine, thanked him for the call and told him I was going to ignore him. I then discussed it with my friends and we decided it might be a good idea to pop along to my local A&E, so I got a bus there, and was surprised when A&E rushed me through! I spent 5 days there, culminating in an angioplasty with one stent. Five days after discharge, I collapsed with ventricular tachycardia, and was blue lighted to the local specialist hospital, where I spent the next 18 days, had every test going, and ended up with an ICD (pacemaker/defibrillator). This was last June/July, and the docs are still deciding where to go next!

That is crazy I never knew this could happen without warning signs

Neither did I, but apparently it's fairly common in women. Less common in men, but they can have silent heart attacks as well.

Well, I don't know if her cancer is affecting this, but I lost 1.5 stone before I got to hospital. Unfortunately I've put it all back on again now!

Best wishes to your mum. The new hospital will be able to sort her out xx

Did u not eat for a while after having the heart attack then hence the wait lost ?? My mum not eating and she hasn’t been toilet since Thursday but obviously if she not eating she won’t go toilet I guess

Because of the sickness, I couldn't keep food down, so I really didn't eat much. Going to the toilet is another matter - our bowels seize up when we're in hospital! Make sure your mum's nurses know she hasn't been since Thursday, and they'll give her some laxatives. It's horrible to have to go through that, but it's better than her having to strain and put pressure on her heart when she does have to go.

Thanks for the reply ... yea they know already been giving her all that but still nothing ... they checked her bowel and it’s active but just nothing is happening yet... when I go and see her she is just very sleepy
