Lowering Cholesterol
Welcome to the forum.
Most of us here try to stick to the Mediterranean Diet as a means of managing our heart conditions.
Have you tried having a look at Cholesterol Support, there will be a number of other ideas on lowering cholesterol there, link below:-
Look at your diet first of all and make changes if necessary. Benecol yoghurt or drink is also a cholesterol-lowering food and I think that some butter substitutes might be in that category too, but I could never give up butter! Do a search to find foods that might help. Obviously, there are statins that can be prescribed but maybe you can do something about it the more natural way!
Many thanks. I am keen to avoid statins if I can so will try the diet first.
My lipid consultant told me not to bother with any Benecol products they don’t work well enough to affect cholesterol. She said if they showed to make a difference it would be prescribed . I like butter too , just scrap on scrap off , dietitian was happy with that .
Have a look too on heart.uk it has lots of information on cholesterol, what it is, the causes and what you can try and do with your diet. It also has some very good recipes on it.
