Health Anxiety

Hello everyone

I’m suffering really bad from health related anxiety. Since I was diagnosed with leaky valves etc 4 years ago it’s gradually got worse, I’m at the stage now where it’s taken over and I have difficulty leaving the house, the slightest thing overwhelms me and from the moment I wake until I go to bed I’m in a constant worry/anxious state. Post heart I was happy and used to go to the gym and be really active, now u can’t even go fir a walk as I’m scared.

I’ve tried hypnosis, CBT, mindfulness nothing works for me.

Has anyone else suffered to a point with this as if I feel there’s no point living like this? I have no life ❤️

I’m afraid it’s hard to be very helpful, as you are clearly very distressed.

Though us hearties do get pretty down at times (me included) your mood does sound v low.

I see you tried some good techniques, but there’s nothing like a good 1:1 therapist! One helped me enormously, with health anxiety and depression, but it wasn’t quick.

Many are now having sessions on line, which seems very helpful, and without exposing either to any extra Covid risk.
