Hello... I am not on Warfarin but on Clopidogrel but do know that Warfarin and other drugs can be affected by some antibiotics. Drug interactions do occur but are usually specific to the type of drug rather than the family of drugs. With Warfarin there can be over anticoagulation with some antibiotics but the prescriber should have taken this into account. What antibiotic are you on?

Amoxicillin but only for five days.

My understanding is the effect is less serious with Penicillin based antibiotics than the more "exotic" ones including the antifungals. As it is only five days I would carry on and give your GP a call in the morning if still concerned.

I’m on warfarin and I had some antibiotics, my doctor told me that I had to make the warfarin clinic aware and they came out to test my INR a few days later. I was on Co-amoxiclav and yes they did affect my INR

Hello I am on warfarin and recently had to take a 5 day course of amoxicillin to treat an ear infection. This was done by phone consultation as it is virtually impossible to see a doctor face to face. I was fine, I just made sure I let the warfarin clinic know at my next INR test. I found this link which may assist - bnf.nice.org.uk/interaction...

Just for interest I had my INR today after taking antibiotics, the levels were considerably raised, I had expected it to have gone down, not up. So have to go again in one week.
