I have recently had my meds changed from Ramipril to Candesatan. The change was due to intolerance of the Ramipril. However the cough and occasional spasm are still persisting.Has anyone else had the same experience ?

Hi, had my medication changed was on Ramipril and because of cough put on to Candesartan, it took a couple of weeks for the cough to disappear but it did eventually and have been on Candesartan for nearly 4 years and fine.

Hi, like yourself I was changed to candesartan. The cough has gone totally and took about 3 - 4 weeks. This was to the relief of my husband as he can now sleep at night 😁. THE ONLY ISSUE I had was fatigue, so I take it at night and it works better for me.

Hi, that’s great, I take it in a morning and have no problems. I know what you mean about the Ramipril cough, the only way I could stop was to suck a Polo mint😂

For me it took a few weeks to be completely clear of the Ramipril cough..... much to the relief of my wife!

I was changed to Candesartan too because Ranpril knocked me out totally but had the same from Candesartan so was taken off both. NO side effects except BP much too low

I’m a week off too and still coughing, hopefully it won’t be for much longer 🤞
