I am 78 years old, had two heart surgeries and now heart failure.
The heart failure team have started me on Entresto, low dose. After a week,I have recurrent stomach pains mainly at night but now also days. I feel faint, have hot flushes and generally unwell.
Can anyway tell me if they also had stomach pains and whether they go? They tell me it as excellent drug if you can stand the symptoms. I am not very able to cope with change of drugs being intolerant to any change.
Your help or advice greatly appreciated.

I have built up to max dose of Entresto, one in the morning and one in the evening, but I do take a tablet in the morning before my meds to protect the stomach ,Lansoprazole. I have had no problems with my stomach but sometimes a little lightheaded, do you take anything to protect your stomach? I am also suffering with heart failure, (not the best description for all of us in this position). It may take a while for you to adjust to the new meds, but stick it out and at least give it a go, if then after a while you cannot take it at least you tried! You will need a blood test in a week to check out your kidneys and also don’t forget you need to drink PLENTY of water. Good luck regards Stephen
When l started Entresto my stomach really suffered with pains.....!!!!! day and night...... its a side effect experienced at the beginning for me....l admit l suffered for a good few weeks but every week got easier till they subsided.....if you can put up with it which l found difficult ...then its well worth putting up with...
Well, I have got to week three! I feel so unstable most days, get dizzy and my head is not clear. It is the same for many tablets that I have been prescribed. I am not sure whether to persevere now.
It may be better to have a quality of life rather than prolong it?
Posted new but unsure if it got on. On middle dose for two weeks and back to stomach pains. HF nurse suggests full dose am and half dose pm. Any suggestions please? Much appreciated.
Thanks for your reply. The Heart Failure team have put me on a half tablet at night which has cleared up my stomach pains. Also the pharmacist of theirs has recommended Famoxidine which does not affect the stomach like lanzoprazole. Not on it yet but the GP has changed my prescription. Keep well and have a nice Christmas!
