Hello Suffolksinger

Welcome to the forum, we are a peer to peer help forum and not medically trained people. We offer support to members with things we have knowledge of. By the guidance of the forum we are not allowed to give unqualified assessment of a ECG. Have a word with your cardiologist/ GP and ask them to look at your read out.

Know it’s difficult to get an appointment with GPs at the moment just keep trying.

Hope you can get the right information soon.

Best wishes Pauline

Thank you and I very much understand, it's very difficult to see a GP even with this being notified, that's where my reach for a forum came in. I apologise in advance for any breaches but appreciate your help.

Oh that’s ok we are here to help where we can we have a large range of heart issues here on the forum and someone will always be along to offer advice where we can. I had Aortic valve replaced and bypass so feel I can help with advice where things related to that is concerned.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Where does the ECG originate from? It does not totally resemble two I had done just before surgery nine weeks ago. Interpreting ECGs is non-trivial and as mentioned outside the scope of this forum.

If you cannot get to speak to your GP that quickly it is worth calling the BHF nurses. I would expect that if there was anything of major concern (I have assumed the ECG was carried out in a hospital environment) you would have been admitted on the spot. A friend has an exercise ECG, it was stopped after a few minutes, he was admitted on the spot, and within five days had been transmitted to Harefield and had a triple bypass. He says I had a quadruple for one up manship! These days has got back to cycling but no longer does time trials!

Many thanks for your response. The ECG was taken at home on a basic ECG application so may not be 100% accurate but the points of concern that show I can physically feel happening so I feel its as true as can get at home. I have now contacted the BHF nurses and many thanks also for this recommendation.

Where did you get the copy of your ECG from?

This was an ECG done at home on an application, so not medically certified but it gave me evidence as to what I was feeling in my chest . X

Have you recorded one where you are feeling well? If not I would.

Contacting GP is a work of art. Does your surgery have the option to email/message via their website? This is the way I’ve got best response for my family during the pandemic. I’ve not tried attaching anything as a PDF but there might be that option, if so attach both the feeling well and the one above.

I have done and also kept them for comparison so thank you. I will see about my online GP service as I believe they do have one. Again many thanks

I’m in Suffolk and they do seem to vary. My mum’s surgery respond within an hour or so, ours the next day.

Failing any response from GP I would be tempted to turn up in local A&E or call 111 next time you have symptoms and take ECGs with you.

Take care and let us know how you get on

How long did this last? You could not have felt very poorly as you had energy to do the ECG.

It really varies to be honest how long they last, some are just a few Random hard beats over the space of a minute some are spread over an hour or so at time . I'm not poorly at all, completely fit and healthy usually and very active. Just at the time my heart slows and pounds I feel instantly slightly light headed and then immediately fine again literally the split second after the heart beat. Thank you for your response and help.

It doesn't take a cardiologist to calculate your heart rate.

300/1.5 blocks = 200 bpm.

1 block = 200ms so QRS duration is; 200ms. This is very wide.

Either your device was not connecting properly or you should get to A&E next time.

I'm not a cardiologist and wouldn't know where to start 🤣 I still appreciate your help very much and can assure the ECG was used correctly but i have to stress this was an application and not done on a machine so I can not say its 100% accurate for sure. Thank you again
