Verapamil for ectopics

I have had ectopic beats for the last 3 yrs, they started in pregnancy with my daughter. As time goes on, each attack is getting worse. I call it an attack because for myself they can last for months. Now they are slowing my heart rate right down, I had to have an ambulance the last time as it was 40bpm. Im really scared of them and this change in heart rate. They sent me home, having nothing but a big of monitoring and a couple of ecgs. I contacted my doctor as I literally cannot take anymore, an they prescribed me half securon/verapamil. The problem i have is that the side effects can cause further slowinv of the heart. Does anyone have the same issues and take the same medication and can reassure me that these are ok?

What other medications are you on beside verapamil? What's the reason for your heart rate to go so low?

I had the same concern when the dr increased my Bisoprolol but actually my heart rate didn't go lower. That being said mine is in the high 50s.

Can you talk to the doctor about your concern and see what he says? My doctor wasn't concerned about my HR going down to high 40s at night.

Good luck, try talking to the doctors about your concern as everyone is different and reacts differently to medications.
