Diagnosed with AF in April after 6 months being treated for high BP on various meds. Symptoms finally responded to Bisoprolol 1.25mg and Apixaban daily. Helped by very sympathetic cardiologist. Im aged 73 and fairly fit...am managing well...had an angiogram and echocardiogram recently...both good results. Had a couple of angina pains but have been given a spray for this under tongue. I find I get tired easily and suffer from dizziness too. Doesn’t stop me from doing Tai Chi though...and Yoga. Have been reading various posts...very helpful!

A new world...
Welcome to the group, Annette16! I too find the posts here very helpful, the support and camaraderie here since I joined this merry band of Hearties over a year ago has got me through some rough patches indeed!
I don't have AF but I do have angina ('with normal coronaries', my cardiologist is convinced now it is microvascular but the queue for that test is miles long and my whatever it is has responded very well to low-dose meds, no rush then for the definitive diagnostic) - Bisoprolol 1.25mg+300mg aspirin every morning has it nicely controlled but I do have the spray and use it when needed. I also have some other heart conditions (I refuse to call any of them 'disease' after the angio showed 'crystal clear' arteries).
And I, like you, have a cardiologist I wouldn't describe as 'sympathetic' as he can be on the brusque side but I very much appreciate his dedication to his patients and his straightforward manner! I'm 64 and over the moon to have a youngish (probably in his early-mid 40s) medic who doesn't write me off owing to age and being female. I suspect you feel the same about your cardiologist.

It's really great to read such a positive post. Your situation is very similar to that of my brother, though he cannot take Bisoprolol and has been put of Diltiazem instead. Unfortunately he suffers from acute depression and feels that at 78 he is on the scrap heap. As we live 130 miles apart, we regularly meet on Zoom and I am trying to encourage him to think positively. He participates in indoor bowls matches, but perhaps it is time for something new, though I am not sure Tai Chi will be the answer.
