Hi,

Anyone out there suffer from dizziness/light headedness whilst taking Flecainide and/or Bisoprolol?

If so, what mg are you on?

Any medication that lowers your blood pressure (such as Bisoprolol) can make you susceptible to occasional dizziness. As long as it is only occasional then it just goes with the territory.

I try and compensate as best I can, for example after exercising I'm careful to follow a "cool down" routine to prevent blood pressure dropping too quickly, and I'm a bit more cautious if I jump out of bed or get up quickly after lying down.

I'm on 1.25mg, and my heart rate can go quite low - it was in the 40s just sitting down this weekend, and I felt giddy a number of times getting up. But neither of those things is really new since last year's treatment and medication, just perhaps happening a bit more often.

When diagnosed with heart failure I was given 2.5mg and after a couple of weeks of feeling dizzy had a bad attack whilst visiting my sister. The doctor at A&E said I should gave started on 1.25mg and I was fine for months after.

Now on 2x 5mg a day after a VT & a pacemaker and feeling lightheaded is a daily occurrence & HF nurse said I had to put up with it.

I get it around my ankles and my feet look like balloons sometimes. Either kidneys or general HF that can cause it, I suppose.

Yes - is just par for the course. Staying hydrated seems to help me.

(5mg Bisoprolol in the morning and 2.5mg in the evening).

I did for a long while a few years ago while taking Bisoprolol. Did some googling and found Bisoprolol could be culprit. Told doctor and cut down from 2.5mg twice a day to 1.25 twice a day. No trouble since.

Not what you're looking for?
