Chest pressure..help! High cholesterol found after..Others tests needed?

Hi All,

New on this subject.

I’ve been suffering on off chest tightness, worse slightly left, sweating and swollen eyelids, ankles and toes.

Poor mobility due to other conditions, pituitary, thyroid and fibromyalgia. Therefore statins not suitable and all can cause increased cholesterol.

After months of gp o ignoring finally did standard blood tests and ecg.

High cholesterol..ecg result awaited (go still not checked after 3 days).

My question is should the go being doing further heart and lung tests?

Hi Confused. It doesn't sound particularly like a heart problem - but then I had a major heart attack without noticing, so what do I know - but you should certainly speak to a doctor again. Is there another GP at your surgery you can speak to, other than the one who isn't listening to you?

I’m not convinced it’s heart tbh, likely connected to my other medical conditions.

Tbh half the trouble is very poor gp practice. Just have no listening skills and a very ‘no’ attitude all the time. They don’t even bother to read pre appointment notes. Astonishing tbh.

Likely to change surgery. Others have expressed how poor they are, so at least I know it’s not just me.

Still doesn’t solve my problem though 🤷🏼

If the pain or swelling gets really bad, then phone 111 (out of hours so they can't tell you to phone your GP!) or even 999 for chest pain.
