Changing meds

Ok changing from Amlodipine to losarten do I have to wean off first 5 mg doctor said miss tomorrow and see how you are or go every other day for a week. What do everyone do can I ask. Been on them since late March

The half life of amlodipine is up to 4 days so you could take a five day break and start the losartan. The absolute worse that might happen is your bp drops a bit for a day or two. And probably won’t. I’m a pharmacist
