So cardiac ct scan was normal I think ?

Had a ct cardiac angio scan 2 weeks ago. Doc doing it said results would be up to 2 weeks. Knowing the nhs I planned in my head to start chasing up the results after 3 weeks or so.

On tuesday evening at 5pm ish I see a voicemail from an unknown number. Turns out my cardiologist had contacted me out of the blue. Since when did nhs docs phone out of hours ? She didn't really say much apart from 'it's good news I'll call you back later.' Stupidly I expected she'd phone office hours the next day and left phone charging in back room which has intermittent reception. At 8:30pm I casually check phone and see she's phoned at 7:50pm. She's left an exasperated message saying she'd ring me the next day. This time I'm prepared but hear nothing. I ring her secretary today and am told a letter is in the post. Apparently I'm discharged from her care. I'm gutted as I'm still having chest discomfort etc and feel a shadow of myself. 1 year ago I was running up the hill on my doorstep now I'm overtaken by 70 year olds just walking. I've an abnormal ecg and no ones ever explained why. Her secretary has reassured me doc will contact me to discuss. Still waiting but feel so demoralised. No way could I run now and so many questions. My one and only outpatient apointment lasted 10 mins with her and she'd not even read through my notes.

I work for the NHS in a clinical role and have always defended it. Is this what it's come to ? No sideways thinking, just sent on your way.

Sorry rant over 😠

Has anybody considered non obstructive coronary artery disease?

These conditions are unrecognised and often overlooked.

If you have ongoing symptoms I suggest you ask your Cardiologist to assess you for microvascular dysfunction or vasospastic angina.

If they are unwilling or unable to do so ask for a second opinion or ask your GP to refer you to a specialist with some experience in diagnosing and treating patients with microvascular dysfunction and vasospastic angina.

Thanks milkfairy ! I know about mva but not as much as you !

I've risk factors like high bp (though well controlled now) family history of cardiac disease, coming to the end of perimenopause (early 50s) and pcos. I'm going to ask her about it, I suspect she thinks I'm a hysterical middle aged woman.

No you are not a hysterical middle aged woman!

You are absolutely allowed to ask for your symptoms to be assessed properly.

If you need any further research articles give me a shout🤗
