I've been getting for 2 weeks daily a burning sensation in centre of my chest. With this I also get left arm pain, jaw pain, tingling in little finger and weird head pains in left temple. I'm 45 don't drink or smoke. I went to a & e 2 weeks ago and they said ecg and bloods were fine except for low phosphates. They also said because I had a ct angiogram 5 yrs ago I'm low risk for heart problems. I do suffer from chronic gastritis and acid reflux. But these pains are so different. I'm not put of breath, but I do get a stabbing pain in centre of upper back. My doctor doesn't seem too interested and said I'm letting anxiety cause a problem. Any advice would be welcome.
Many thanks
Simon

Hi, I don't have heart disease but my husband does so I joined the forum to learn more and found it to be a great source of exactly the information I was in need of.
I'm replying to you because I have had a very similar experience to yours and with the added problem of severe anxiety. I had tests and was assured that it was not heart related too. I wondered about gerd. I still get the severe pain from time to time but, for me, it eventually eases with gaviscon. When it is at it's worst my anxiety rises again, though and I understand how hard it is to control that.
My only comment really is to sympathise that your GP is less than helpful. Maybe your meds for gerd would benefit from a review but I don't know what your meds are, nor would I wish to, as I have no prescription meds for mine for reasons not relevant here.
I hope that I haven't spoken out of turn and I hope you are able to find some some resolution to your problem. Best wishes
Thank you for taking the time to reply I really appreciate it. I think I will try and speak to the doctor again. I am now getting sharp shooting pains down my right arm. I am trying to not let my anxiety run away with me, but it's so hard. Thanks again and best wishes to you .
Hi. I had HA and stent 10 weeks ago. About 5 weeks ago I started getting burning sharp pain in my chest and collar bones and my consultant changed my blood thinners and upped my dose of lansoprazole which has helped a little. It could be heartburn but pain in the arms is worrying. Maybe worth calling 111 or your GP just to make sure. Keep a diary when it happens, what you're doing at time, exact pain type and how long it lasts. Hope you start to feel better soon
I would not trust your GP to diagnose anything other than the simple. For about 6 weeks they thought were my heart failureWas acid reflux.By the time I got into hospital my heart was badly damaged.During the period between my first hospital admission in my second-GP failed Completely To see additional problems And in the end I went to accident and emergency. The difference- trained specialists in every field will look at you sometimes you can be seenBy seven or eight different specialists. This isn't to sayWe go dashing up to accident and emergencyIf we have bad wind !However in your case particular with these pains in the arms,Get yourself up to accident and emergency- go early in the morning about 5 o'clock. Don't call an ambulance take yourself up there And you will beat many of the crowds....I have had the other poor experiences in the pastOf GPs is trying to diagnose complicated problems and then sending me away. The best way to think of them Is like general MechanicsWho can fix many problems but they are not specialising in sayLamborghini engine problems. In a way it's not their fault its the system thats wrong and they can't be expected today. If you are sick in Greece you go directly to a doctor specialising in that particular field. If the problem could be one of several different conditions he may refer you to other doctors.A GP has notThe experience or even the equipmentTo discover your problem, That is a simple matter of fact. Keep us posted on how you get on But don't sit on the fenceThat's my honest advice toYou.
Hi, took my self to a and e. They done bloods and 3 ecgs. My phosphates were low which they said was causing me problems they said. They said because I had a ct andiogram 5 years ago its not my heart, sent me home with phosphate tablets. Pains have been a little better but still getting them. They said follow up with doctor.
