Paul

Don’t want to alarm you but eight months after my bypass I still have insomnia. I just accept that it is now part of my life. This attached link may help. But as always speak to your cardio team or GP

Hi Paul, I've got HF and seem to have fallen into a pattern of lying awake til first light once or twice a week. I don't know if it's got anything to do with the condition or meds or it's just me! But you're definitely not alone with it x

Hi Paul, I am 4 weeks on from HA and stents fitted.

Here is my two penneth.

I found at first I was actually frightened to go to sleep in case I didn't wake up! Silly I know but that's how I was.

I find it easier falling asleep now but still have occasions where I toss and turn and can't drop off. I am sure a lot of it is in my mind and it becomes a vicious circle!

Good Luck

I went through that stage, though it may not be Paul’s issue. But I would have a mini panic attack as I was about to fall asleep and find myself gasping for air. Recognising this enabled me to consciously overcome it.

Discussing it with my GP he commented that I’d self-administered CBT. Ever since I’ve slept very well.
