Ideal blood pressure on heart meds

Hi all,

I'm taking aspirin, statins, beta blockers and nitrates for my unstable angina. I was told to keep a check on my blood pressure and make sure it stays around 130/80.

It started off ok, but now the systolic in getting down to between 110 and 120. The diastolic is hovering around the 80 mark.

Is this the pills, or should they also be looking for something else (heart failure for example)?

My wife has noticed some swelling on my body but not feet and ankles.

My heart very often feels like it working overtime. My pulse is down to around 60 (sometimes less) due to the beta blockers.

Looking over your posts the last three days, you have obviously a lot of questions. The only way to put your mind at rest is talking to professionals. You have mentioned you suffered depression for ten years ? Was that treated in the UK ? I would advise you seek counselling to help you, this will help you to be more positive about your heart problems. Are you married to a Romanian if so you need to speak together with the health services. The more you worry the more unwell you will feel.

Good luck

Thanks for your response. We are trying different options here, but finding someone to 'commit' is nigh on impossible.

We'll keep at though.
