Anxiety. Cardioversion. Adding to post as keyboard disappeared. Need to know what U.K. do for patients who are so terrified they walk out? Can’t cope at all. Everyone gets on with it but not me. Never had blood test or surgery in 60+ years.

Hello, sorry to hear you’re unwell and it’s causing you so much anxiety. My husband had a DC Cardioversion a few days after open heart surgery to replace his Aortic Valve. He was sedated beforehand. And before his surgery he was so very anxious they gave him some meds to help relax him and to sleep.

I’m sure you’re not alone in the extent of your worries and can only suggest talking to your doctor about it - or getting someone else to. Have you had any counselling or hypnotherapy?

Best wishes.

Hello,

I can understand how you feel I was 68 my body had never let me down had 2 children and apart from that never been in hospital. So being told I needed open heart surgery! I was in hospital for 7 weeks before the op as I was very unwell, I had every test you could think of even cameras put where cameras shouldn’t go! I was given sedation to help me relax. The same with the angiogram. By the time I was transferred to the heart hospital for my op I was an old hand!

Have you explained to your medical team how very nervous you are? I am sure they are used to people who have a dread of hospitals. In the back of our minds we know it’s for our own good but it doesn’t help with the nerves!

I wish you well I know how hard it is but please talk to your team to get some help to get through this.

Best wishes Pauline

have you tried meditating? it always help, and easily, also there are books and teas that can help you. Soul books can help u fix the cuases of which the consequences are coming to surface ( I mean anxieties and depressions ) Meditation can help u chill ur flow or thoughts and observe them clearly with awareness (but it actually is kinda long process) and Teas or chill pills like kratocaps ( which I buy on sacredkratom.com/product-ca... ) or red indian tea can help u chill ur body so u can observe whats going on with a clear point of view. I always combine those 3 when I have something bad going inside me.
