Just a thought ?

It’s been on my mind that as I’ve got micro vascular angina as well as coronary spasms, does that have any link to vascular dementia? It panics me to even write the question but thought I’d ask just incase anybody knows the answer ?

This question has crossed my mind too and I don't know if there's a link I hope not because I've got MVA with coronary spasms also. I would say not to look too much into it though just deal with what you have now taking each day at a time. Too much info can lead to anxiety about what may never happen, I know I get anxious sometimes worrying about the future and what if???? And have to remind myself to stay in the moment, enjoy the good days and cope with the bad days as they happen.

That’s actually bought tears to my eyes as I e been so worried about it and never spoke to anyone about it, to have someone who has questioned it as well makes me think I’m not going nuts.

I will take each day at a time, hard though isn’t it 🤗

Hope you’re ok ?

I'm good at the moment but I do know how you feel being diagnosed with a heart problem is scary.

What symptoms do you feel with MVA?

I personally have, heavy pressure and ache across my chest.

On walking after a couple of minutes I start to get a stronger ache and heaviness, get breathless, definitely need my GTN spray which does ease things, I don’t walk far because of this, I go home and rest, it makes me lethargic and tired.

I take quite a few meds which has helped but some meds have uncomfortable side effects so looking into maybe changing them.

Do you have MVA ?

I agree with fluffybee I get a heavy tight feeling in my chest and all around my back get very breathless and tired. This usually happens at rest sometimes after exercise of doing too much, and sometimes in the morning before doing anything. I have lots of good days though and can do most things including light exercise on the good days.

Hi Fluffybee

I have lived with coronary vasospastic angina for 8 years.

My Cardiologist and Neurologist believe I also have vasospasms in my brain too as I experience migraine like symptoms with my microvessel and coronary artery vasospasms

I also have Raynauds Phenomenon another disorder of the blood vessels.

I do not have the energy to worry about what ifs.

I attended a pain management programme which taught various strategies to manage the emotional fall out of living with chronic and acute pain. A journey that many people with long term conditions have to make.

This quote was often used

'Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

courage to change the things I can,

and wisdom to know the difference.'

Sunshinebrew makes a very good point about learning to live in the here and now.

Taking each day as it comes. Hold on to the good days rather than the bad ones.

I’ve had a problem with my gallbladder/liver they’ve mentioned possible micro vessel reasons for that !!

I asked my Cardiology Prof a specialist in Vasospastic angina

whether all the blood vessels in my body are effected.

His answer 'yes'

The underlying cause of Vasospastic angina for some people is thought to be a disorder of the endothelium the inner lining of all blood vessels. One important function is to produce a chemical to relax your blood vessels.

The medications used to treat the condition are those that relax the blood vessels and improve the function of the endothelium.

That is soooooo frightening, I see a neurologist anyway so I’ll ask him about it.

Not sure I can sleep for a few nights now 😢

Honestly I do not worry about it.

I find it helpful knowing why I have my pain.

The vasospasms do not last they cause me pain then stop.

I always go into hospital if they don't to be checked out.

They are unlikely to do any lasting damage if you are being treated with medication and go to A&E if you need to.

I love that quote you gave 😃

I will use it to get through good and bad.

I have a busy lovely weekend 🤞 to look forward to, baby clothes shopping (not mine) on the river with family and 2 dogs on Sunday, and I will feel good and have a good time 😃
