If you want to spread on bread, tahini (it is said to lower blood pressure) and nut butters. Also avocados have a very pleasing texture that is like butter

There is no way to eat fats or nearly pure fats that is healthy, Check out Dr Dean Ornish and Dr Esselstyn for peer reviewed studies that reverse heart disease. I am constantly gob smacked that this is not almost the only thing talked about hear, but its rarely mentioned. If you want to reverse life style heart disease you can, and tell your doctor when you do.

As Dr Kim Williams once said, "there are 2 kinds of cardiologist, vegans, and those that have not read the data."

You cannot reverse heart disease by diet!! My husband has HF caused by a HA caused by lifestyle, no diet is ever going to cure him! As usual I've reported your post for making false claims

Please refer to admins post about diet

Also, HU rules are that we do not post extreme lifestyle diets, I'll post the link shortly!

Back to the original post....I went vegan in February and so obviously I stopped real butter, I genuinely thought I’d miss it more. Out of the alternatives personally I love flora. But there are some other alternatives that are cheaper but some are just plain not very nice. Trial through them, all our taste buds are different.

Could I ask, did it help? although remember we can be junk food vegans as well as whole food vegans

You’re 100% correct. Everyone has to watch what they eat however their diet goes. I got down to my target weight (Only 1/2 stone difference) in 2 weeks without starving myself or trying. Literally just by eating plant based products. It’s not for all and I certainly don’t agree with pushing any diets. But for me I feel so much better overall. You just have to find things you like.....things like cheese just can’t be replaced. Milk and butter are ok, and I’ve learnt to LOVE lentils

Care to expand on why you question my my motivation, regardless of my husbands heart condition?

He did for a while but he was conscious of people with ‘Suspicious minds’ blowing his cover so it was ‘always on his mind’ 😂

I have never seen any peer reviewed data where atherosclerosis has been reversed by diet or any other process. Medication, diet, smoking cessation all help slow or halt its progress. I have seen a report where arteries were chemically cleared but playing Russian roulette carries less risk!

go to a site call google scholar and do a search, lots of studies have a pay wall, here is one I have just found quickly

go.gale.com/ps/anonymous?id...

Here is a quick look for Dean Ornish

books.google.co.uk/books?hl...

This is google scholar

scholar.google.com/schhp?hl...

Can I say, Dr Ornish was first and Dr Esslestyn followed to show that it was the diet, not the meditation ( although nothing wrong with that ) or the omega 3 fatty acids that were in the Orinsh study. I have a huge respect for both, and also Dr T Colin Campbell who did the famous China Study, these people will save your life check them out.

These doctors and scientist are also in a much more accessible form on YouTube, but credibility is important so satisfy your self that they are kosher

I am not sure whether using the term ' kosher ' is appropriate. It would offend some people

Please can I ask you to look at the links below where BHF admin explained why your previous comments are not in keeping with the ethos of the forum?

Sorry but there is no explanation except that the anti diet lobby complained. As I said before I question their / her motivation . Heart disease is a life style disease and my motivation is to help with the correct information.

That's interesting

Would you please be able to share this evidence with us all?
