Timing of beta blockers

GP advised me to double my visa blocker to twice a day for overactive thyroid. I take morning tablet between 8-10am. What would be a good time for evening? Is 12 hrs apart the best option. I usually take nighttime dose between 6 and 8. Taking bisoprolol 1.25

Were you not given a guide from your GP otherwise have a word with your local pharmacist to see if they can help. What actual medication are you taking?

Hi , I take 5mg bisoprolol daily but I take it as one tablet at bedtime.Initially I had problems with cold hands and feet but had been warned about that.I take the beta blocker for high blood pressure and ectopic heartbeats,I'm not sure if the times you take them is different for thyroid problems but 5mg at bedtime suits me. I would just experiment with different times and see what suits but don't be surprised if you get cold hands and feet at first if you are doubling the dose, once you're used to it it will probably disappear.

All the best.Judy.

Do you sleep well if so try taking bisoprilol in the morning see how you feel. If you take it at night as the same time as the other one it might impact your sleep. Bisoprilol can give you nightmares look it up also taking bigger doses at bedtime can give you a wheezing in your chest and that can freak you out a bit. I’ve been taking bisoprilol for atrial fibrillation for 4 years as my heart rattled about in my sleep so bisoprilol calms that down a bit but on occasion I’ll take another half a pill if I’m feeling anxious. I normally take a 5 mg but if I do take another 2.5 my breathing gets shallower. 1.25 is the smallest dose.

I am hardly sleeping with a fast heartrate caused by overactive thyroid. The nighttime bisoprolol is supposed to lower it at night. But still between 80 and 110 at night.

Take your other 1.25 at bedtime with the other 1.25 then

And do not worry as that will cause you to be anxious and increase your heart rate 👍🏻✌🏼
