Quick update. I went in for angioplasty 2 weeks ago and it worked this time! Feeling so much better, both physically and mentally. Seems that my right artery had an unusually sharp bend which was what made the first two attempts fail. I am now in possession of a very clear and strong looking artery again. My Cardiologist seemed very proud of his work and in the style of makeover shows, couldn’t wait to show me the before and after photos 😂
The staff in the hospital were amazing and due to corona, I was one of only 4 people in the day case unit which meant I had a whole team of nurses looking after me, felt very privileged.
Now to get my fitness levels back and lose the weight I gained during all of this. Can’t wait!
Wanted also to thank you people on here who have been so supportive and encouraging, you have genuinely helped me through a very challenging 9 months.
All the best.

Thanks everyone. Just got back from a proper walk - 5 miles and not one moment of tiredness or breathlessness. So good to feel more like myself again. Going to take things nice and slow though and rebuild my strength by degrees.
So happy for you! Hang on to that great news and use it when things in your life seem tough. Our health victories in life are important to remember especially in the world we are living in today!
Not a stupid question. It’s all been a bit of a drama. Attempt #1 caused my heart to stop and they had to halt the procedure. Attempt #2, after 2 hours or so the cardiologist told me she had to stop and couldn’t finish the job due to unexpected complications she found. Attempt #3 was referred to the head of the local cardiology service who happens to be one of the top 10 cardiologists in the UK (aren’t I lucky) and he successfully placed the stents and explained that there was an unusually sharp bend in my artery that needed negotiating and it was that that had made it so difficult the first couple of times.
Not looking winded at all, I appreciate it. I also had a very difficult to place stent which took two and a half hours to fit just the one when they'd originally planned to place two. Because I've still had some chest and upper pain since (6 months ago) it's easy to wonder if it all worked.
Good to hear it is all sorted. It is an amazing feeling. Although I feel like I was the victim of Big Daddy Splash when I came around from my bypass I was free from angina and breathlessness!
