Anyone taking Eliquis/Apixaban?

I have dilated cardiomyopathy and atrial fibrillation, I have taken carvedilol, eplerenone, candesartin and a blood thinner for seven years. Originally the blood thinner was warfarin, but I was recently switched to Eliquis/Apixaban and I am suffering from difficulty breathing at the least exertion, a dry cough, low level headache and palpitations. I just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience with Eliquis/Apixaban.

I generally don't tolerate meds very well but I've not had any problems taking Apixaban, I chose it because it seems to be the one least likely to cause side effects but sounds like you are having issues with it.

Both myself and my hubby take Apixaban. No side effects. Hope you get it sorted.

I was prescribed Apixaban and took it for a couple of years with no apparent problems, but have now been changed to Edoxaban, which I understand is the current preferred alternative for the NHS, largely for cost reasons. No apparent side effects with that either. Maybe I'm just lucky.

I was on warfarin for a few years. But I was then switched to apixaban. I have been in this for 3 years with no side effects.

I have constant Atrial fibrillation and dilated cardiomyopathy for the last 4 years yep I have a constant wheeze dry cough and shortness of breath. I’m used to it now and this only gets better when I go out running twice a week By the way I’m very overweight at the moment I’m 6ft 4inch and weigh about 21st. But I can still run but need to get back on it tbh. Good luck but don’t worry about it

Definitely speak to your doctor about it Tbh a good chemist would also know about the drugs they are prescribing also ask them
