Oh well apart from my daily power walks,I must venture into the anti coagulant clinic.Tried putting it off but have to go in.On plus side I have a mask and need to get out and face folk sometime.Stay safe everyone.

Needs Must
The staff will be PPE, the chair will be wiped between patients, those waiting are distanced, etc. You should be fine. Also remember your hand sanitizer. I had my first Costa Coffee in weeks in the hospital. There's a perspex screen, you pay by contactless or go without and the coffee appears through a slot! 🍵
That's one place I have never been to,Now if it was a drive through wine bar totally different
Clinic was empty, although typical that I have been in the range for over two years, and now its just slightly higher so back in month instead of 8 weeks.
I assume PPE and other precautions in place?
I used to go to the clinic every week regarding taking warfarin, when the epidemic began the nurse told me if I spoke to my doctor I could probably get home visits which I did and now I do. Out of curiosity did they do the finger prick test or withdraw blood from your arm?
By a masked man! The highwayman look suited the price! 😁
That’s why I’m glad my clinic supports home testing. Only have to go in twice a year to get my machine checked against theirs. Only annoying thing is that I can’t buy less than 24 strips at a time and as I use less than 12 a year the strips expire before I can use them all. Still, better than having to go to the clinic each time.
Oh thanks for that will need to look into that one.Few times they have to do it a couple of times as if reading bit high they repeat and then its lower find that strange
I have a CT scan next week. I haven't been out of house since early March. I have tried ringing to ask what safety protocol is in place and all I get is one answer machine after another. Will ring my GP later and ask them. I have gloves mask wipes and sprays but still apprehensive.
At the start of this COVID scare I finally bought a home testing kit which means no visits at all, everything cleaned by me and no need for masks. I know they’re pricey at £299, but it’s freed me from extra worry. Anyone else considering it should go ahead. 🙃
After 9 yrs on warfarin, my GP has prescribed Rivaroxaban, since the lockdown. I've felt safe taking warfarin, so have mixed feelings about changing. So far, the only thing I've noticed is a dry mouth.
I usually go to local surgery for my INR tests. They are within easy walking distance. Had last one begining ofApril. Next due mid June, but had call from nurse yesterday to say that as I was over 70 I shouldn't be going out at all and I would be getting a home visit instead. This works for me in that local surgery is now closed and would have to drive to head surgery which is the other side of town to me. It was the not going out AT ALL bit that annoyed me.
I told my husband I'm thinking of silk screening tee-shirts for us:
KEEP YER DISTANCE!
Front and back.
Sorry for the delay replying ('Net playing up and it looks now as though it will be a while before it's up and running smoothly). I did see your reply before my 'Net went spotty and have been giggling ever since!
