I have atrial fibrillation and a moderate to severe mitral valve prolapse. I get very breathless when I do anything remotely energetic, except slow walking, for example gardening or vacuumimg. I also then get a cough, this only lasts until the breathlessness passes. My GP tried a water tablet, Losartin which made no difference, then an increase in my Lansoprazole dose as I have a hiatus hernia. This helped chest pain but has made no difference to the cough. My GP is stumped and has asked if my cardiologist can shed any light on it. I just wondered if anyone else has experienced this? I take 2.5mg of Nebivolol daily.

Hello Spikynana. I don't have the symptoms that you describe I'm afraid but then I am on different medication. Hopefully your Consultant will be able to shed some light. Is there anything on the leaflet that comes with the meds that may explain?
No, nothing about coughs. Remains a mystery. My cardiologist has arranged for a further echocardiogram, so hopefully will shed some light. Thanks for replying.
