I’m having an urgent MRI three weeks after placement of four stents. Is it safe? I’ve read some alarming reports of stents being dislodged.

Safe to have MRI soon after stents?
Morning, I had 3 stents and an MRI about 3/4 weeks after and was fine. They wouldn’t or shouldn’t do the scan if they thought you would be at risk. Way I see it - it’s worth doing it as it’s the best way to view what’s really going on. Hope it goes well, I struggled a bit with enclosed spaces but made it through.
You should be fine. Just make sure the staff are aware. The technology has improved over the years and weaker magnetic fields are used. The problem with Dr Google is it drags up out of date information (i.e. rubbish).
Hi, I too have had MRI scans with 3 stents in, wasn't a problem at all. They wouldn't do a scan without a need to assess you, so it is a positive step in your care and recovery journey. It's good you're being looked after. Good luck with everything.
No problem with MRI after having stents and also wired back together sternum !!!

Thanks, Prada47. I'm now reassured! Wired sternum - wow!
