Mitral valve prolapse

Hello, I'm new here! I was diagnosed with mitral valve propose a few years ago. Since then I have been monitored by ECG every 6 months to a year. My cardiologist said my heart is enlarged and he's not sure if it is the leaky valve causing this. Anyway due to the coronavirus I started self issolating. I also have no spleen so I'm at risk. During issolation I received a letter from my doctor saying they now want to put me on medication for it but I haven't collected the medication as it said I would need a blood test 3 weeks after taking it to check it's ok! Am I putting myself at risk not taking it yet? I'm worried about going up the hospital for a blood test where I'm not allowed out.

Sorry but I think this is a discussion you need to have with your doctor.

Coronavirus doesn't mean all other medical conditions have to go on hold. Your doctor can weigh up the risk/benefits - forum members cannot!

Thank you for your reply! I agree. I did try and contact my doctor regarding this issue but it's been so hard to get through at the moment! I just wondered if other members may have had similar experiences.
