Steve. My wires were removed after 5days. Surprised if you have had them longer unless there is a medical reason

Hi ,

I was informed that mine were left in and also confirmed by xray ,cut of at the skin so yes they are still in place.

The Epicardial Pacing Wires tbat are temporarily placed after cardiac surgery, if retained, are usually considered safe for MRI scanning as are the breastbone wiring. You should of course discuss this with the Imaging Team before your appointment.

Pacemakers and associated leads should not be subjected to an MRI scan!

My husband had many MRIs he just had to have his pm adjusted before and after.

Only the MRI compatible ones. It took some scanner operators three years to agree a protocol to scan some makes. I had to go privately to a hospital that already had a protocol in place.
