Hi All

So I had my ICD device check yesterday & it has picked up a small pacing issue where it misread a fast beat & decided to slow it down but there was nothing there to pick up, it happened a couple of months ago & I never felt anything, this is only time this has happened in 4 years so has anyone else had this wee blip ? & if so what happens now ?

Thanks everyone

Hi, it's Paul. A long time since we made contact. I've had no problems with my current model.

Just a little bit of AF.

I haven't felt I needed to use this BHF site for several years.

But this post arrived out of the blue. It's good to know your keeping well.

Best wishes,

Paul

I hope our journeys are an example to others. Although my EF is still below 35% , it shows you can live a near normal life.

Hi, I can't recall whether I posted about this at the time.I'm on my second one. The first one, a very modern one, although the name escapes me at the moment activated whilst I was out pushing my grandson.

Fortunately he didn't suffer any injuries, but I ended up flat on my face with cuts and bruises and was taken to A&E.

It went off for no apparent reason.

They couldn't discover a reason, all the data was sent back to the USA for analysis.

It was deactivated and I was offered another type. The first one was fitted under my arm and required full sedation, the 2nd one was fitted at the top of the chest, and was done under local anesthetic.

At one stage I had both, until the first one was removed under full anesthetic.

The current one I've had for nearly three years, with no problems. It is also more comfortable.

I hope this helps other people way up whether to have one fitted.

Definitely good insurance policy.

Paul
