How do we decide which advice to follow
Hello Hiyaall
Welcome to the forum
Perhaps the BHF website would be good place to start?
They often will discuss articles that have been in the press and other controversies.
Your GP, Cardiologist or Cardiac rehab team are all other sources of information.
NICE National Institute of Clinical Excellence provides guidance to clinicians about which is the recommended evidence base treatment for most conditions.
The National Cardiac audit programme NICOR sets the standards of care eg how long it should take from the time you pick up the phone to call an ambulance until you arrive at the cath lab for treatment of a high risk heart attack. Btw 150 minutes is the standard
Or you can visit Dr Google's consultanting room which is unregulated and notoriously unreliable.
Well done for looking “ outside the box” we are all told to live by. Keep reading and watching and you will eventually make your own mind up. Whatever your decision, good luck 🙂
Just be aware not everything is completely factual sometimes it’s made from one persons point of view and hasn’t been tested at all! Stick to the BHF or NHS sites for the most up to date advice
Most of the reply 's I have read so far on this have pointed you in the right direction, don't trust anything you read in general web chit chat like google searches, you get some right cranks on there who just scare monger for the hell of it, this is a better than average site for getting a good grounding of replies, but the end result is always the same....get professional advice! I only use this site for comparison and basic advise from those who have had the same past experience, even then it is my choice what to believe, but by and large we are a good bunch of helpful people on here.
