I am new to this site and would be grateful if any anyone could give me advice.

I had surgery on18th March to remove obstruction caused by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and a mitral valve replacement. A week later had pacemaker due to heart block have been home for Past 2weeks. Do you know how long I have to wear compression socks for? Also have been doing small walks in the evening and pottering around the house, have not yet had info on cardiac rehabilitation exercise. When should I start and what should I be doing?

Thank you

Hello and welcome to the forum! On both counts you need to talk with your cardio team (you may have to hang fire till Tuesday) as they will know your clinical details. With rehab they may have on line videos or email exercise sheets. Again it is individualised.

The BHF have now posted online about cardio rehab:

A quick call to the BHF nurses may be worthwhile.
