Did anyone see the piece on University Hospital London last night? I found it the most moving piece in a very long time. If you didn’t see it it’s on YouTube sorry can’t put a link IT skills limited! Sure some kind soul will maybe do it. Maybe these people who think they don’t need to practice self isolating should be made to watch, harrowing!

If sometimes it seems as though it’s all a bad dream, that programme really brought it home, especially how valuable those amazing medics are and how very much they so deserve our very small token of appreciation on Thursday evenings. How they even survive wearing that protection armour for long has to be so admired, vital as it is. The number of medics needed to just turn one patient over and the care with which they did it was incredible. We’re all feeling somewhat fearful even while watching from our safe homes - they must have those same feelings a thousand-fold, not least taking it home to their families. On a brighter note, how inspiring was the patient who wished to speak to camera as best he could towards the end of the programme - keep positive everyone and keep safe.
In the past I have visited people in ICU's and was always struck by the at times calm yet strange atmosphere, the silence but for machines bleeping. But that feature brought home how different the new norm has become. I am always impressed by how all staff can focus to speak to reports under such stress but they rise above it to get the message out. Amazing people.
