Yep, I’m eating and sleeping like I’m Henry the 8th

I think that's the case with most people at the moment. It does make you feel sluggish & heavy after eating it.

Yes. I'm not happy. And tomorrow my husband is daring the supermarket to bring me carrots and fruit to snack on rather than what I have been 'enjoying'. (Don't ask. It's too embarrassing that chocolate and lightly salted crisps have become my 'go-to' comfort food!')

Try pea snacks - baked not fried and low in saturates.......... I'm addicted to chive and sour cream.......

Baked are hard to find in our little corner of the Kingdom. But...I found them online and added them to my Click and Collect set for 13 April. Thank-you!

Meanwhile, my husband has been to the supermarket and I now have fruit and veg to snack on, and when my sweet tooth demands - Rocket ice lollies!

here comes the voice of the diet demon to tempt you further: you can get lentil crisps......

did I mention vegan Magnums? Pea ice cream......

in reply toCalliope153

Ain’t them vegan magnums got more sugar in than Willy wonkers chocolate factory though?

Calliope153 profile image

1g more than the standard Magnum per 100g.....

MAGNUMS? Oh no - now you've done it! Dunno about vegan ones but the almond ones are amazing...

well, I've never fallen that far - she said virtuously - but I have looked at them in the cabinet....... be sure your sins will find you out (which means hide the wrapper better than I did - husbands always find them and tediously go on and on about people not helping themselves....)

Thank-you for the reminder (my husband knows the same litany) - I'll be sure to take the bin bag out myself!

Me too. No vending machines no trips to the café.

What could be nicer than a cherry cake, or a gluten free , lactose free, chocolate cake, or a steamed pudding. It's all got to stop. More apples, celery, carrots and cauliflower. Just had some mashed potato and sweet potato. Very tasty.

I used to do about 6 - 8 hours of ballroom dancing every week and always regarded it as a mainly social thing. No Dancing + cakes = weight creeping up. Fight the flab starts today.

Up until 2 hours ago I would have answered the OP's question in the negative. I've been a good boy sticking to my low inflammatory (osteoarthritis/bronchiectasis sufferer) low cholesterol (bypass survivor) diet. Went out as the family shopper for my bi-weekly food etc shop today. Came back with the usuals - loads of fish, chicken, seed/nuts, fruits and veggies ......... plus 12 donuts!

The family deserve a treat - they have been so supportive in my family isolation/physical distancing regime, but I should NOT have eaten my share of the bounty! First donuts in over a year! Goodness, they were nice.

Words fail me, cakes, biscuits, doughnuts - we are supposed to be keeping as healthy and fit as possible for our own sake and for the NHS. Get a grip hearties.

We suspect my husband has had COVID-19 although won't be confirmed until tested - he lost his appetite for solid food for a couple of weeks and shed 9lbs.

in reply toMARYFRED

I’m sorry to hear that, how is he now?

Kind of you to ask Happyme123. Improving slowly - he is still very tired sleeping about 10 hours at night and often dozing during the day. 111 said to keep him hydrated. Keep being Happy you x

And you take care of yourself too, it must have been and still is a worrying time. 🌹

I try to stick to my usual breakfast (breakfast biscuits), lunch (jacket potato & sour cream & chive dip & sprinkle of cheese) , supper (usuall slice of toast ) , bedtime (couple of crackers). Am sticking to that very well 😇 , but my downfall is between meals ,even more now online shop is being delivered - it tends to be anything I can lay my hands on 😡 - I'm a naughty little bunny 🐇🐇. Even eating everything I still have a rumbly tummy but am losing weight.

I started dieting yesterday, I only had one slice of chocolate cake instead of two 😏

Thanks everybody! Really cheered me up this. I don't post often but read a lot.....this is the best community out there :-) a really happy bunch.

I have been trying to stay fit, and half killing myself in the process doing Shaun T Insanity Max 30. Gets the heart pumping for 30 mins every other day! Miss the Gym terribly had the best shape since my early 20s but having to lay off the protein as weight was spiralling.

I've gone from 18.5 stone to 16 and would like to lose another stone but difficult in current climate, think I'm just a bit paranoid …..

Thanks again for the great support.

Hidden last thing I want is to put pressure on NHS at this time and I'm sure all of the contributors feel the same way...…
